The outside and trim of the car is as important as what is under the skin. People will look long and hard at the outside of your creation. We provide parts that hold up well to close scrutiny, and perform even better.
Windshield, Lighting, and Mirrors
The kit comes with the expensive chrome-on-brass tinted windshield. There are only three manufacturers in Britain of these windscreens and one in the U.S. We have recently paid to develop tooling to make our own windshields due to the fact that the original suppliers can’t keep up with our volumes. Our new windshields are the highest quality parts on the market. Watch out for less expensive poor quality aluminum framed replica windshields.
The kit comes with original British style lighting and fasteners. These include the expensive LucasÔ twin filament red tail-lamps, amber turn signals, license plate light, and headlamps. The original chrome “Bullet style” racing mirror comes in the kit along with the classic pedestal mount rear view mirror.
The kit includes high-quality trim parts like the L and T-shaped chromed brass handles, the twin red Lucas tail-lights, and vintage license plate light.
Trim Accessories
You also get the original chrome latches and handles (L-shaped for hood and T-handle for trunk all keyed alike), side louvers, front and rear quick-jack bumpers w/fasteners, and competition hood pins. A high quality hood hinge is an option on the base kit and standard on the complete kit.
Three Point Roll Bars
Standard with the kit you get a three point. 0.120” wall steel, competition roll bar. The roll bar mounts directly to the frame with included stainless steel fasteners. We’ve seen many versions of roll bars out there, most are optional, some are purely cosmetic (yikes!), ours is designed right and works when needed (just ask Dave Smith).
We decided that this part is an integral safety feature and like all exterior and body parts, makes or breaks the period correct look of the car, that’s why we make it standard on our kit. The roll bars are all delivered in powdercoated gloss black at no charge. We also offer chrome coating as an option along with passenger side roll bars. Every FFR Mk3 frame already has the passenger side roll bar mounts installed, so you can add this option at any time.
The Mk3 Roadster kit is designed to use the proven brakes from the 87-04 Ford Mustang. They can be serviced easily and inexpensively since they’re Ford components. The Mk3 Complete Kit comes with the full set of Ford Racing GT four disc brakes, calipers, 10.5” rear and 11.5” front rotors, spindles, and all fasteners required to complete your car.
We carry a complete line of aftermarket wheels, both modern and vintage in a variety of sizes to accommodate almost every conceivable combination of running gear. Aluminum Halibrand-style replica wheels are especially popular.
The Mk3 Roadster can also accommodate the authentic “pin-drive” wheels. These beautiful aluminum racing wheels come with adapters, spinners and require specific control arms.
