Hemmings Muscle Machines
Feb 2004 Issue |

If you haven’t visited the newsstand
recently there is a new magazine on the rack that you might want to check
out. Everyone knows about the Bible of vintage and collectible cars… the
brown paper covered monthly, “Hemmings Motor News”. Well, the publishers
of that famous book have launched a killer new gearhead central
publication called “Hemmings Muscle Machines”. |

…”At full rip, the roar is deafening and absolutely thrilling…
Acceleration is hellishly powerful. …I’ve driven a lot of supercars
over the years: Porsches, NSXs, Corvettes, and the BMW Z8. Nothing
compares to the brutal power unleashed by a car like this.

| The fact
that FFR is spotlighted in the current (Feb 04) ish has nothing to do with
this ringing endorsement ahem… But seriously, this magazine is a keeper.
The editors didn’t just write a story on FFR, they visited our plant,
interviewed our guys, and drove our cars themselves. The resulting
article and others in each issue are filled with tech goodies and real
firsthand opinions based on what a normal motorhead demands from a
machine. The editors have an excellent background and are really true car
guys who love what they do… Our kind of people. |

| Check
out the recent article on FFR. The associate editor Craig Fitzgerald does
a good job explaining what we do and the product-based reasons why we have
been so successful at transforming the image of kit cars from cheap crappy
fiberglass tubs or expensive-hard-to-build-nightmare-projects into modern
well-engineered race-car projects that demand respect everywhere they go. |

|
…”To be honest I
expected to see a 20’ x 20’ shop with no inventory, as workers
waited for orders to come in. I was surprised to find that FFR is a
proper manufacturing company in a place where manufacturing has all
but disappeared from the landscape… Factory Five Racing brings to
mind a successful race shop from the 1960’s... |

If you find yourself taking your
weekly pilgrimage to the magazine rack and flipping through titles
while the kids run around the grocery store unsupervised doing their
best “Lord of the Flies”, ignore the store manager and the little
savages for a few minutes and take a read thru the best new efforts
from the guys at Hemmings.
If you’ve read your copy of Muscle
Machines, let ‘em know what you like and don’t like about their new
rag. And especially, tell them to write more stories about those
wing-nut race car guys at Factory Five…
