LK Motorsports builds world record Challenge Car

Factory Five Challenge Series Cars have been changing the way people race since they debuted in 2000.  The series has opened the door to wheel-to-wheel racing for folks all over the country, and experienced racers are jumping from other series to get into the fray.  Low cost, high thrills and grassroots racing are only a few of the reasons why the series is spreading so quickly to new regions all over the country.

Keith Drake was one of the latter type of racer (racing since age 7, a 125 Shifter Kart national title in 1999), and when he decided to abandon NASA’s Camaro-Mustang Series, and  join the Northern California circuit of the Factory Five Challenge Series, he didn’t want to miss any of the action.

When Keith let us know his schedule, we didn’t waste any time either.  Keith gave us the go-ahead with a payment in full, and our crack team of professionals sprung into action.

Within two days of his order, we had built a brand new, back-order free, Challenge Car kit, complete with Keith’s specific options and custom configuration.  Fed Ex assured us that they could get the kit to California in warp speed, and the kit went onto a truck immediately.  Within one week of Keith’s initial phone call to us, a Factory Five Challenge Car kit was delivered to Keith’s builder (Langley Kersenboom of LK Motorsports), complete and ready to go.

The baton was passed to the professionals at LK Motorsports, and like the Tasmanian Devils of build shops, Langley and his team were feverishly building Keith’s race car.  It only took them a few weeks to build the car, paint it, and road test it to ensure safety and reliability.

Within one month of his order, Keith joined other racers at the Western RoundUp at Willow Springs Raceway for some spirited racing.  The next stop for Keith is Button Willow raceway and his quest to climb up the points ladder and challenge for the Challenge Series national crown.
