He’s a regular at every major roadster event. He’s a consistent source of information on the forum (and has his own “ask North RaceCars” section: http://www.ffcobra.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum;f=11), and an all around great guy. Richard Oben is a fixture in the Factory Five Racing community. Since his first kit in 1998, Richard has pursued his dream of being the largest and highest quality builder of Factory Five Racing kits. Over the last five years, Richard has built every one of Factory Five’s models, and has had a hand in over a hundred customer built cars. Richard’s good natured Midwestern personality has
always been focused on helping people, and in the process of building some
of the best cars, Richard has put his engineering degree to work in
designing and developing a line of FFR aftermarket components to support
every customer’s quest for a better, safer, and ultimately, faster car. |

Some of these aftermarket components include: - self canceling turn signal assemblies - rear disc conversion brackets - air conditioning kits - custom wheel configurations Richard started on his path toward FFROG icon early in life, and sunk his teeth into the automotive world while working on cars at the early age of 15, and he worked on custom bicycles well before that. At age ten he built a chopper bicycle that was the envy of all the kids at school. |

When not working on Factory Fives, Richard and his
wife Ruth are usually out sailing Hobie catamarans on lakes throughout the
midwest. |
