Joe
Leone has built a really beautiful MK II Roadster that stands out
everywhere he goes. Dartmouth Collision, South Dartmouth,
Massachusetts, applied the House of Kolor Black Sparkle Pearl that
really catches the eye. Joe used a Ford Racing 351 CI crate motor that
dynoed at 400 crank horsepower, hitched to a
Tremec 3550 through a Ford King Cobra
clutch. Joe also used the optional FFR 3-link rear suspension, with
coilovers, and fabricated his own adjustable
rear lower control arms. Brakes are Ford racing
CobraR, wheels by Simmonds of
Australia, with 18” Pirelli P-Zero tires. What really makes Joe’s
Roadster stand out is his liberal use of carbon fiber throughout. Inner
door panels, dash, stone guards, hood scoop, chin spoiler, and mirrors
are all carbon, and the interior is fully upholstered in diamond-stitch
vinyl.
Joe
has put lots of time into building a unique car and it has paid off
since he has won awards at several local car shows, Boston’s World of
Wheels, and “Most Innovative Build” at FFR’s
own Open House.
