Customer Profile Ken Reid FFR 4617GT, Portland, OR

Thanks to Portland Oregon’s Ken Reid for the cool photos of his newly built FFR Spyder GT roadster. Kens FFR 4617GT is one of the nicest one’s we’ve seen (and one of the few!). FFR spyders are a rare sight. We sell about one Spyder kit every other week, and production has been ongoing for more than two years.

Ken reports that as soon as he first saw the car, he was hooked! Not only was it more unique than anything he had seen on the road, but it had the elegance and style of all of the vintage European cars (Lotus, Healy, Ginetta …) he had always loved (and without the expense, repair costs, and inferior chassis).
Ken’s been a motorhead ever since he was big enough to depress the clutch on the family tractor at their apple orchard in Washington. Since then, he has done restoration work on a 1958 Nash Metropolitan (as a 14 year old), his mother’s 1956 Ford T-bird, and a Lotus Europa.

Ken also has a passion for two wheelers, as evidenced by a 24 day cross-country cycling trip and has cycled across the country in the past. When he decided to build his Spyder, Ken was one of the first to take advantage of the Spyder-introduction offer, and placed his order before we even had the discount in our system.

You can expect to see more completed Spyder GT’s on the road, as we ship more kits and as customers like Ken get them built and on the road… We only hope to see all of them as nicely finished as Ken’s. Ken’s car was selected as car of the month on the internet discussion forum FFCobra.com.

There’s no telling what big plans Ken has for his Spyder, but for the short term, he is just enjoying being the “what is that cool car?” guy in his neighborhood.
