Luckiest man in the world, Michael Koerner, and his wife Joanne, hero to all.

Men around the world have been fighting the “two month salary” engagement ring rule forever. Whoever came up with this “guideline” clearly has never taken into account the importance of other things near and dear to men’s hearts (like cars).
Joanne Keller understood the burden that beset her loving and dedicated boyfriend of over 7 years when he proposed to her, and although it was done with all of the love in his heart, she just didn’t think it was fair. She got an amazing diamond ring, but Mike had nothing to show to his friends and coworkers. So Joanne took it upon herself to even things up.
After wracking her brains trying to come up with an appropriate gift – a trip was out (they had become engaged during a trip to Orlando, and they just didn’t have the vacation time available), jewelry not an option (guys and jewelry just don’t mix well), and kitchen appliances are just too passé. Besides, the only thing that Mike had ever talked about (and always talked about) was a Factory Five roadster (that was the car that he dreamed about, the car he envisioned they would leave the church in, the car they would raise a family with, the one and only car that he wanted as part of his family).

One future cop car you won’t be out-running…

One day after Mike came home from his shift as a police officer, Joanne was bubbling with excitement. He, too, was excited, as he expected that she had received a raise (which meant, of course, more money to go toward the Factory Five purchase). Instead, she presented him with the paperwork for the kit she had purchased in his name!
While Joanne is now the poster-girl and inspiration for FFROGs everywhere, we are all very happy for them both.
The whole Koerner/Keller family is actively assisting in building the car now, as the wedding date is contingent upon a completed car. (Joanne is enlisting volunteers, if you are interested).
Best of Luck guys from everyone here at Factory Five Racing… may your car’s painted finish shine as long as the obvious love you guys have for each other… We’re getting all misty over here… |
