Customer Profile Tim Mundy

FFR3298K  Liberty, NC

The North Carolina sun sets over Tim’s beautiful Mk2 Roadster.

Tim tells it best in his own words (excerpts form a nice letter...).

“When I began the pursuit of fulfilling a dream to build a (roadster) replica, I originally made contact with Factory Five Racing to get information.  What I found was a group of people willing to make my dream a reality.  Factory Five Racing was a great starting point, and the leader of the industry. … I was hooked.  I had to build one of their awesome cars!”

“I decided how mine would be built.  It would not be an “all out monster”, but very detailed, classy and beautiful.  I wanted it to be reliable and enjoyable.  I wanted it to be built to DRIVE.  I did put a “little monster” in it by way of a ZEX Nitrous System, so I can wake the monster with a flip of a switch”

“The car was built in my garage by me with help from time to time from my Dad, my sons (Joey 17, Jordan 14) and my friends.”

I enjoyed building the car so much, that I hated it all coming to an end.  I was actually worried that I would not like driving the car as much as I did building it.  Well, that worry quickly vanished – it has turned out to be more than I could have ever dreamed.  The car is fantastic to drive, however I do miss building it.”

The car has won six trophies, all “1st Place” and some “Best of Show” wins locally.  It has (also) had an article published in a car magazine.”
