| As a kid in Chicago, David Smith was always building
go-karts. So, it makes sense that he'd eventually own a race car
kit manufacturing plant in Massachusetts, right? Not
exactly. Dave majored in Philosophy and Medicine before returning
to his childhood passion many years later.
The winding road of life was just one of the lessons he shared with
3rd & 4th graders at Decas Elementary School in Wareham
recently. David's visit capped the JA experience (as taught by
Dave Gibbs of Southcoast Hospitals & Ernie Farren of Verizon) with a
video and personal history that wowed the young students. He fired
questions at the kids, to encourage creative thinking about their
futures. But his presentation, as interesting as it was, took a
back seat a few days later when he sent an engineer roaring (within the
speed limit of course) over to Decas in a candy-apple red
Roadster. See below: |

| Factory Five Racing has 50 employees at its Wareham plant,
and is a major player in the car0kit industry, selling hundreds every
year to enthusiasts around the world. JA loves entrepreneurs, and
David Smith is a great new friend! |
