Factory Five Racing in the Deep Freeze

This year New England looks more like the Midwest or North Dakota rather than our usually mild Atlantic gulf stream influenced winters.  Beyond the media hype about "The Blizzard of 2005", we wanted to show folks the real snow amounts and what the storm did to us poor little New Englanders.  In past winters, if we do get snowfall, it usually melts quickly.  It's not unheard of to have customers drive their cars in the winter.  Check out the report from the 2004 Moochfest held about this time last year.  This year things are a bit different...

We had to close for a day and use a front-end loader to clear the property.  Nearby New Bedford, ill-equipped to handle such snowfall was shut down for the better part of a week!  The snowy mess makes the race season feel like it's a long, long way away.  Check out the snow drifts against the doors!

That is our shipping door in the composites area!  The entire side of the building had 4-6' drifts!

View from front of street looking west.  Don't try to step thru this door to the outside dock!
