South Shore FFROGs Cruise Past  "The Rock"
Pre-Summer Run to the Cape Tours Southern Mass.

A group of Massachusetts FFROGs from around the south shore got together this past weekend for breakfast followed by a cruise through surrounding towns ending at Cape Cod. We got a recap of the event, along with a number of photos, from the guys to share with you all.

Dave's Diner in Middleboro, MA

"The day was to be rainy, but as the roar of the first Factory Fiver pulled into Dave’s Dinner in Middleboro the sky’s started to clear.  By the time the 4th and 5th Roadster pulled in the crowd was already milling around the cars with all the wows, ooohs, awwws then one lady asked, “Is it that an MG or a Jaguar? What kind of car is it?”

Well Brian said it right in which we all took a lot of pride and said, 'They are Factory Five Roadsters and we built them.'"

"Ron came all the way down from Weston for the breakfast gathering and Brian came up from the Cape.  John is from New Bedford, Dave along with his friend Jeff are from Plymouth and my son David and I are from Middleboro.  We had a great time looking at how each other put our cars together and telling road stories from the experiences we each have had with them."

These guys sure like their coffee.

"Dave Daylor took a group of four cars on a tour from Middleboro over through Plymouth on some very historic roads and down past Plymouth Rock. Then he headed south towards Cape Cod. At one point, Dave gave it the gas so we could all make it through a traffic light near Home Depot with one of Plymouth’s finest sitting near by.  As I was the last car in line going through the intersection, the officer pulled out and came right up behind me. I gently eased it from 2nd to 4th to keep her “purrrrrring” and for the next 7 miles, at 30 mph, he escorted us right out of town!"

"We made another stop at Osterville Beach for an ice coffee and more conversation.  Everyone had a great time and we are planning on making this a monthly event. We would like to rotate the gathering site around the South Shore to give everyone in the area a chance to participate."
