Update:
Sometimes
hard work and good faith pays off indeed! The good news is that since the
new agreement was reached with Transport Canada, FFR customers have had no
problems whatsoever importing chassis kits into the country. Following
the implementation of a new procedure and agreement with Transport Canada
this past March (see
Canada Agreement story March 2005) , FFR kits have achieved
a 100% acceptance rate into the country. Since this Spring there has not
been a single glitch in the new system and we are really happy to report
that customers are finding importation into Canada to be straightforward
and easy.
The entire
team here at Factory Five Racing, Inc. would like to thank the hard work
of Harry Baergen and Sylvain Lalime at TC as well as the many dedicated
Canadian customers and builders who helped accomplish this effort.
We will
continue to follow the guidelines laid down by Transport Canada to the
letter and expect nothing but clear sailing ahead for our Canadian
customers. If you have any questions about the Canadian procedure or the
specifics of importing a FFR kit, please call us directly at
508-291-3443.
If you would
rather deal directly with a Canadian company, and have someone else
coordinate ALL of the importation work, we are working closely with Al
Beix at Western Canada Cobras. He has done an outstanding job of helping
folks with their kit orders. Call Al at 604-531-0375 or visit
www.westerncanadacobras.com
We are
currently working on an exact same procedure for the Type 65 Coupe and
Spyder GT kits. While many of these kits have been imported successfully,
we are working on developing the same procedure to make them as easy and
simple as the roadsters. |
