Factory Five Training, In-Service

And Spring Cleaning

Week of March 20-24

We have decided to hold a week-long training and in-service program here at Factory Five.  We have tried our best to put in place some systems and people to accommodate all of our customers and to minimize any lapse in support/coverage.

We have a small team to answer emails, return messages, and answer shipping questions, but the bulk of the tech support and admin team is training on new systems.

All areas are operating, but admin is keeping up with just Weber and Tara on email and messages.

Here is what we are doing.

The Technical Support staff of Lenny, Mark, Joe, and new-guy Bob, is spending the entire week building a new GTM from a standard production kit and Corvette parts, to completed car by Friday.  We made the decision to do this in order to make sure that our Tech guys have all built a car before they answer questions from customers.  We should have done this sooner, but our engineers have been handling this up to now and it’s time we let the real car guys figure the thing out.  The best training comes from doing, so we decided to bite the bullet and build us a new car.  By the end of the week the car should be done and our tech crew should be back in full force Monday morning.

Tech support via email and phone message is available all week.  We apologize in advance for the inconvenience caused by this work and ask for your kind consideration as we make sure our team is capable to help our new GTM customers as well as they help our roadster, coupe and challenge car customers.

On the other side of the wall we are busy cleaning and prepping our warehouse, showroom and facility in advance of the 2006 Open House and Show/Event Season.  Also, during this week, Operations is at the crux of a massive shipping effort aimed at reducing on-hand kit inventory, building our component inventory, and training packaging and support personnel.  We have also implemented new frame QC procedures and are training in those areas.

We are open all week for tours/visits and we have a dedicated (but small) skeleton crew to address parts orders and questions.

The GTM the guys are building/training on will be featured at the upcoming Knotts Berry Farm show and Hot Rod Magazine cruise-in to be held in about four weeks.

On behalf of everyone here at Factory Five, I want to ask for your patience and extend my thanks in advance for your consideration as we complete this important work that will enable us to serve you better.
