Factory Five Racing

2003 Nationals

Car Show and Championship Race

November 7-9, 2003

Join us in Vegas!

Join us and an estimated 250 Factory Five owners and their cars as more than 5,000 spectators gather for the largest Factory Five event of the year.  Welcome to the 2nd annual Factory Five Nationals.  This year’s event is being hosted in exciting Las Vegas, Nevada and promises to deliver something for everyone… From fast paced track action to cool street car events this is the one event you can’t miss!

On the famous Las Vegas Motor Speedway track, FFR Spec racers will compete for the 2003 FFR-NASA Challenge Series Title.  The world-class facility will also serve as the host for our concourse car show, customer autocross and vendor midway.  You’ll have a chance to meet some racing legends like Bob Bondurant and Dick Smith as well as be one of the first to check out the awesome new GTM-200 Supercar as it is unveiled to the public for the first time.

After a long day in the sun we head over to the fabulous Treasure Island resort and casino for a night of food and fun at the awards dinner.  But that’s not all, with VIP guests, race-car rentals and over $10,000 in cash awards and prizes, this will be THE event of the year.  This package describes the event and includes entry forms and contact information.  We hope you can join us for this exciting weekend of cars, food and great company.  See you in Vegas!

Event Highlights

Las Vegas Boulevard Cruise

The huge three-day event gets underway Friday evening with a thundering cruise down the neon-lined boulevard of the Las Vegas Strip.  Expect over 100 FFR cars to head out for a short 30 minute evening cruise and drive-in car show at the Las Vegas Treasure Island Hotel and Casino.

Concourse Car Show

Join us for a once-in-a-lifetime car show.  Last year’s Nationals witnessed over 100 of the nicest FFR Show cars ever.  This year should showcase more than twice that number!

Over $5,000 in awards and prizes!  The National Factory Five Racing Owner’s Group will present awards for a number of categories at the Saturday show.  Trophies and awards will be presented to top winners at the Saturday evening awards dinner.

FFR-NASA Championship Race

The 2003 FFR-NASA Challenge Series is in its fourth season and this year’s championship race promises to be the biggest and best yet.  With over 35 cars from four regions competing for the over-all national title, the 2003 finals will be an all-out wheel-to-wheel battle extravaganza.  Top finishers will receive Factory sponsorship for next season.

With more than 3,000 FFR roadsters built and over 150 Spec Challenge cars delivered to customers around the country, the second annual Nationals Championship race promises excellent depth and a variety of talented drivers.  We expect between 30 and 40 cars to make the grid for the finals.

Parade Laps for Street cars

Maybe driving at full speed on the racetrack isn’t in your blood.  That’s OK, at lunchtime on Saturday the exciting Las Vegas Motor Speedway is opened up for ALL FFR customers and their cars.  Touring laps will allow you to sample the raceway course and give friends and loved ones a safe thrill.

Touring laps are a fun drive at “less-than-racing” pace.   A photographer will be on hand to take your pictures as you navigate the scenic track.  Reservations can be made for touring laps on Saturday at the car show anytime up until noon.

Customer Autocross

Touring laps are fun, but if you want to crank it up a notch we’ll have a full-course professional autocross circuit set up for FFR customers and cars only.  There will be two classes, STREET and PRO.  Take your turn against the Pros or do your best against other street car drivers and novices.  Prizes will be awarded for first through 8th place in each class.  There will be $3,000 in cash awards and trophies so get your car ready to run!

Racing Adventures will be there with a fleet of racers Parade laps will give EVERYONE a chance to get out on the track

Race Car Test Drives

Interested in taking a turn behind the wheel of a Spec FFR Challenge car but you don’t own one?  Why not climb behind the wheel of a race-prepped Factory Five Spec car?  The team from Racing Adventures will have a fleet of FFR spec cars on hand for you to actually drive through the autocross course.  An instructor will accompany you through the cones as you sample first-hand the razor sharp handling, powerful braking and acceleration that’ll make your eyeballs go flat.  Test drives cost $25 and are available to the public through the crew at Racing Adventures.

Type 65 Coupe Corral

There are only six (6) original Daytona Coupe race-cars that were ever built.  This car won the world championship in 1965 and it is extremely rare to see one these days.  One of the biggest treats of this event promises to be the “Coupe Corral” where an estimated 10 Factory Five Type 65 Coupes will be gathered in one place at one time.

In addition to the Coupe Corral, willing owners will bring their Coupes out on the track during the open track “Touring Laps” session on Saturday at noon.

New GTM Supercar Intro!

You’ll get a close up look at all the FFR kits.  Fresh from our R&D shop, you’ll get to check out the most anticipated new design in the history of the company… The jaw dropping GTM-200 Supercar!

The GTM will get its first public unveiling at the FFR Nationals at 1:00 PM on Saturday.   Production on this design is scheduled to begin in 2004.

VIP Guests and Awards Dinner

Return of the legends!  A closer look at 1965 you won’t get.  Meet Bob Bondurant, and Dick Smith. Get autographs, and enjoy the show as they have the chance to join FFR owners out on the track behind the wheel of the FFR Team cars.  VIP guests are eligible for the Saturday exhibition race.

When the action on the track is over, you can join the crew from Factory Five Racing, the National FFR owners Group and special VIP guests for a night of awards, fun, food and history.

The catered dinner starts at 6:30 PM Saturday evening and promises to be a good time for all car guys and their guests.  Tickets for dinner must be purchased in advance for $35 each
