April 2002 : Knotts Berry Farm 2002
We've been going to the Knotts Berry Farm Show in Buena Park California since 1997.  In all that time, we've never had a booth or a display.  Rather than trucking cars across country, we've always been lucky to have the great support of the West Coast FFROGS, who attend the annual show.  These West Coast fanatics usually don't disappoint, and this year was certainly no exception.  No fewer than sixty FFR roadsters made the pilgrimage.  The FFR faithful were joined by three Spec Racers from the Nor-Cal region, as well as a beautiful FFR Type 65 Coupe built by customer Roger Hansen.

This year our customers made off with many of the highest show awards.  Farra Snook from Oregon came from a long way but it was worth it.  He won 1st Place in the very competitive over $50,000 class!  Steve "Kermit" Moriarty

earned 1st Place in the under $30,000 Class.  Farra also earned Best Engine (with his 4.6L conversion) and Best Chassis.  FFR's Mike Tirri and Dan Shierts won Best in Show awards as well.  Dan's car was absolutely flawless, complete with flared rear fenders and a blue-printed Hollman-Moody 427 side oiler.  This car was a real show stopper.

We presented some awards to longstanding customers who have contributed to the great West Coast group.  FFR So-Cal periodontist turned road-racer, Joe Nowack, was awarded the Factory Five Legacy Award.  The weekend was a memorable one.  It was a great time to meet new people and renew old friendships.  The West Coast FFROGS are really an incredible group of people and a tight knit bunch.  After days like this, we really wish the factory was closer to the warmth of the California Sun and it's great car folks.  You can read the full story on our website.
