Annual
Carlisle Import and Kit Car Show,
May 17-19, 2002 |
| The annual
Carlisle Import and Kit Car Show was held this past weekend (Friday to
Sunday, May 17-19) and it lived up to it's regular reputation for large
crowds, exciting new products, and miserable
weather. |
|
| Our team included FFR's
Dave Smith, Jim Schenck, Elizabeth Largevin, and Lenny Gerard. We
also dragged along FFR customer and poster boy, Gary Cheney, and got
some help from FFR builder, Farra Snook, along with a slew of
hardy-waterproof customers. |

Cheney's
Spec Racer came complete with a dummy; it also was shown with a
mannequin in the driver's seat |
|
| Friday and
Saturday were overcast with periods of drizzle. We were impressed
with the hard-core attitude of FFR customers who drove their cars to the
three day event. |

| Sunday
finally dawned sunny and clear, but cold, around 50 degrees. It
finally warmed up to 65 as we were on our way home. |

Mk II got TONS of attention! |

|
| The show was
a lot of fun. We had a huge number of people check out the
new Mark II roadster, since we had a new Mark II rolling chassis as well
as a Mark II finished car on display. |
|
|
| We also
brought along our new aluminum body (prototype). Plans are to
offer the entire aluminum body with doors, hood, and trunk, finished as
an option for $5900, to be available this fall. |
 |
| Pictured
at right: The aluminum body was an absolute Bombshell, with
customers all over it all weekend long. |
|
|
| Carlisle
is the place to be for
meeting with manufacturers, press people and customers. We had a
great show with over 600 people coming through our 9 space booth. |
