Otis AFB, MA - There aren’t very many benefits to being a FFROG in the Northeastern US. The winters are cold and longer than most people can stand, and the summers are like the personalities of many people here, quick and to the point. It is, however, a beautiful part of the country, and the autumn and spring seasons can be magnificent, but for every picture postcard day, there are two cold and rainy ones that precede and succeed it. It’s a tough place to be a car guy here in this part of the country.

The one benefit that they have is that the NE FFROGs are close to the factory. Close enough to drop in on a Saturday and chat with the staff - pore over the cars while discussing technical details with the engineers. See first hand how it should be done, how we’re doing it, and then take that knowledge back home to their own project.

They’re also close enough to enjoy the official FFR Owner’s Appreciation Autocross.

Since the very first kits rolled out of the factory in Dartmouth, and thereafter in Wareham, Mark and Dave have celebrated their success with the people that gave it to them. Each and every year, we have held our annual event at Otis AFB in Bourne, MA. This is the sight of a high speed, quarter-mile autocross tarmac that is run just about every Sunday throughout the abbreviated summer. It’s a great place to really learn how to handle your car. It provides you with excellent chicanes, slaloms and turns, but at certain sections, you can rapidly accelerate to nearly three digits on the speedometer. We’ve always treated it as the training ground for future racers and racecars, as well as a safe place to teach our customers the virtues of our award winning  Roadster – quick and nimble, with power to spare, it’s a well balanced autocross machine.

These events have grown year to year, as our production has leapt in volume annually. This year proved no exception. As 31 cars, some individually, many in groups, pulled onto the base and headed for the tarmac, we once again checked our inventory of sodas and subs, making sure that we were ready for the advancing hordes. Based upon the success of the Open House, held at our factory in June, we knew that this would be an onslaught.
