FFROGs brave severe weather to attend Charlotte Auto-Fair
Factory and Whitby crew support SouthEastern owners |
| |
|
As one of the
biggest street-rod events in the SouthEast, everyone within a two
day drive of Charlotte, NC, eagerly awaits the arrival of Spring,
and the annual Spring AutoFair.
So when we started
planning for this year’s show, we were remiss in the fact that we
didn’t have enough space for all of the customers who wanted to join
us. In fact, our space on pit row is one of the most valuable areas
of the track, and coveted by several car groups. |
 |
| |
|
 |
Over 30 customers
quickly registered for the event, which promised to be the largest
AutoFair on record – both for the FFROG pits, as well as the show in
general.
Even when a series
of thunderstorms (with the added bonus of killer tornadoes and
baseball-sized hail) were forecasted, the hearty guys and their
Factory Five’s were not to be deterred.
Thirteen out of the
36 scheduled owners still made the trek to Charlotte from all over
North Carolina, as well as South Carolina. |

 |
| |
|
With a
blanket of dark, foreboding clouds hovering overhead, they met
outside the track at 7am. As soon as we all decided to head into
the track, a shower of rain, mixed with hail blessed the group of
harder-core owners. |
| |
|
 |
The rain didn’t
last long, and definitely didn’t deter their spirits - even as the
rain continued off and on throughout the day, these guys never left. |

We rewarded all
attendees with a custom event t-shirt and dash plaque, and the
customers voted for the best of the best southeastern customer-built
cars.
The guys at Whitby
Motorcars were also awarded with a Factory Five Achievement Award,
for their service and support of the FFROG community as well as their
commitment to and enthusiasm for Factory Five as a whole. |
