Quaker State Challenge a Huge Success!

Factory Five, Hot Rod Magazine, Summit Racing and Ford Racing Join Forces at Innaugural Q Power Challenge

 

FFR’s Mark Dougherty and the nice award received from Hot Rod Magazine for our part in the Challenge.
 

The crew is just back from Texas with smiles as big as the Lone Star State!  The Quaker State Collegiate Power  Challenge event is officially concluded!  The four cars built by each of the UTI campuses shined in every way during the two-day competition held Feb 10 & 11 at the raceway in Houston.  Performance criteria involved a rear-wheel dyno test, ¼ mile drag race, six cone slalom, 60-0 mph braking test, and lastly a fit & finish evaluation. 

 

We can’t give you too many details since the event is covered by Hot Rod Magazine and Hot Rod TV, but you can check out their web site for updated images and news. Our cars performed fantastically and the participants and students all had a blast at the two-day shoot-out.  There was tons of drama as the teams overcame obstacles during the grueling testing. 

 

FFR Engineer Jim Schenck and customer service representative  Mark Dougherty traveled to support the teams with our five-car transport.  The events of the weekend were really exciting so stay tuned to Hot Rod TV for details and don’t miss Hot Rod Magazine on the newsstands.

All FFR customers will be proud of the way the FFR cars performed.  There are some numbers we are just dying to tell folks about… Numbers that will BLOW YOUR MINDS!… BUT…that’ll have to wait for the show.
