| Every year we open the doors to the kingdom and invite all
of the FFROGs to come back home and see what we're working on. The
benefit for us is that we get to see what they've been working on as well,
and every year we're more impressed with the quality, craftsmanship and
ingenuity of our customers. This year's show was the best one yet, as
125 cars (including 5 coupes, and 6 rolling chassis) crammed into Factory
Five's friendly confines, and nearly a thousand people joined them.
If you didn't make it this year, some of the things that you missed
were: |
| |
- Brian Alvarez' first car show was a triple play, with awards for
Most Innovative Design, Best Use of Chrome, and the People's Choice
Award.
- Double wins for Gary Cheney (Best in Show - Spec Car and Type 65
Coupe) and Dan Genest (Best Paint and Best in Show overall)
- A dyno Shoot-out between the reigning champion, Brian Dinsmore, and
Sonny Young.
- A record Scratch and Dent parts sale netted over $10,000 for the
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
- 1700 Hot Dogs voraciously consumed by the hungry masses.
- FFR tech support guru, Joe, running the DJ booth, as well as several
acoustic sets with his band (50 Purple)
- Designated vendor area for many cool FFR aftermarket parts
- A raffle for all FFROGs in attendance for over $1200 in FFR Bucks
certificates (former intern and forum regular, Aaron Silidker,
netted the top prize, a $500 certificate).
- FFR materials manager, Steve, belted out a rousing rendition of the
National Anthem to a standing ovation (Ok, there weren't that many
people sitting anyway).
- Unveiling of Factory Five's one (and only) 63 Roadster (hand built
and engineered by Johnny Bryant).
- Sneak preview of the GTM frame and re-designed nose, as well as a
powerpoint presentation and video clip of the first "go cart".

| The most challenging task was judging for the show awards.
When every car in the field is a show winner and a standout in it's own
right, distinguishing one from another is a monumental task. |
