| Saturday at Knott's started with
the usual cloudy morning that happens every year. Every time Dave
Smith is in town, the rain comes with him. This year he only
brought a slight five minute drizzle. The cars started rolling in
about 7am from as far away as Nevada, Phoenix, and Northern
California. Factory Five Racing's customer cars took over most of
the first three of the seven total rows of the show. I arrived
about 7:30 with Steve Moriarty just behind me. Russ Thompson in
the Radio Flyer and Larry Davi, aka Mr. Potato head, were already
polishing away. This was the first show for Mr. Potato head since
fitting his new body after the unfortunate deer incident, and the new
paint turned out great! The San Diego crowd was well represented
with Sergio Trego, Forrest, Dan and almost Nels Prario.
Nels met up with a gravel truck on the way to the show and ended up with
a broken windshield. To add insult to injury, the alternator died
and he couldn't make it to the show. Jerry Nanson and Ms Vicki
along with Mike and Ginny, came in from Arizona. Ginny has been
hard at work on the quilt to be auctioned at the Spring Fling in Ohio to
benefit Team Jenny and displayed it at the show. |

| Farra Snook brought his partially completed FFR with a fully polished and
supercharged 4.6 motor. The work on the car was phenomonal.
Everything on the motor was polished or chromed. Evan's silver FFR
Roadster had plenty of custom work in the engine compartment and the
suspension. Jim Riddel brought his Roadster with a very
interesting 383ci Chevy motor with over head cams, stack EFI and 750+
HP. He also had fabricated billet aluminum control arms for the
rear suspension. |

| Roger Hansen showed up with his beautiful Type 65
Coupe powered by a 351 with 4 Webers sitting on top of the engine.
The pictures do not do the car justice. It was a real crowd
pleaser. |

By lunch time the clouds parted and we had a sunny afternoon at the
show. Dave Smith was on hand to see all the West coast FFR
enthusiasts and to pass out ballots for the FFR only awards.
Around 4pm, all of the FFR owners got together for a group photo and
awarding of FFR plaques. Don DePontee was given the award for epitomizing
the FFR spirit of friendship and helping others achieve their
goals.

After the awards, about 30 FFR owners descended on the
Outback Steakhouse for an informal dinner with friends, both old and
new. Sunday came around with the AHA Knott's Berry Farm awards in
the afternoon and FFR cars really brought home the trophies! The
most surprised person there was Steve Moriarty, when he and Kermit won
the Judges Choice award for his gorgeous green FFR Roadster. Russ
Thompson and Jerry Nanson continued their Knott's winning streek by
bringing home trophies again this year. In all, FFR had 35 cars
present for the show. We're hoping to have at least 50 next year.
