Factory Five Crew Heads West to Knotts!
Join US at the 2006 AHA Spring Knotts Berry Farm Car Show
April 22 & 23rd 2006!

The West Coast’s largest replica car show has become a tradition among California and western FFROG members. Check out last year’s event!  The sun drenched two-day event features a custom car show, FFR owners area, and all-new for 2006 a FFR-Hot Rod Magazine Cruise-In Saturday night, as well as the Knotts Show Awards on Sunday afternnon.

We have attended the Knotts Berry Farm show every year since 1997,  and every year we try to do something fun. The Factory effort for the last few years (its no secret), has unfortunately been a bit lame.  The truth is, that the Knotts show is the only time we get to connect with the West Coast FFR faithful, so we need to ratchet things up a few clicks this year!

We want everyone to know that for this years’ Knotts weekend we will be pulling out all the stops, and yes, the GTM will be there! This year we will be bringing out our entire five-car factory trailer and a full crew to party and cruise with customers and media folks.  The crew will include FFR President Dave Smith, customer support guys Mark Dougherty and Mark Weber, along with a few of our engineers and tech support guys.

New this year is a Saturday night cruise to Huntington Beach, sponsored by Hot Rod Magazine and Factory Five Racing.  The cruise will be for FFR customers and their cars.  It is free to any FFR owner and all participants get a custom T-shirt and dash plaque. Rumor has it that FFR guys are bringing their own cars out to participate in the Hot Rod Magazine Cruise-In on Saturday evening.

Here’s what we have planned…

Saturday and Sunday Car Show!

Bring your car out!  Each year Factory Five’s are the largest group of cars at the Knotts Show.  We want to keep that streak alive and we need your help.  Join us and approximately 75-100 FFR owners and their cars at the biggest west coast replica show of the year.  To register for the show, see the link at the bottom.

When your wife and kids tire of listening to you drone on and on about camshafts, paint codes and dyno numbers, they can spend a day at the world famous Knotts Berry Farm Amusement Park.  The car show is just steps away from this great diversion!  You'll need to purchase tickets to the amusement park separately from the car show event, however.  Go to www.knottsberryfarm.com.

FFROG and AHA Awards Presentation

The Factory Five Racing Owner’s Group and AHA will be presenting car show awards.  Because there are usually so many FFR cars at the show, we give out additional awards to FFR cars in addition to the AHA awards.  FFR awards will be presented on Saturday afternoon at 4 PM and the AHA awards are always presented on Sunday at the end of the car show.

Hot Rod Magazine – Ford Racing and Factory Five Racing Cruise Night

Immediately following the Knotts show on Saturday there will be a Cruise-In sponsored by Hot Rod Magazine, Ford Racing, and Factory Five.  The cruise will head out from Knotts and end about 10 miles away in Huntington Beach for a 6:30–10pm evening gathering/cruise-in.  Participants who bring their FFR cars will receive a custom dash plaque and a cool event T-shirt.

Click here for directions to the Cruise-In - directions will also be available at the Knotts show on Saturday.

The parking area for the cruise is right next to Duke's Restaurant a few steps from the famous Huntington Beach pier. There are numerous fast food and other restaurants along PCH and on Main Street by the pier.  Folks from Hot Rod magazine will be in attendance to cover this event and it should be a fun and laid back evening.

There are no formal plans past 10pm, but FFR guys are planning on cruising over to Newport Beach to troll for vettes…

Give us a call to let us know you're coming on the cruise, so that we have enough t-shirts, or email Mark directly at mark.weber@factoryfive.com
