Factory Five at the Annual Solidworks Press Event |
| |
|
 |
| |
|
Every year Solidworks holds an event for the
press to see the improvements and innovations that are being made
using their software. Factory Five was invited to display our cars
at the event. |
| |
 |
 |
| |
|
Along
with Factory Five, Skip Barber brought 12 of their school Formula
cars which the press got to drive around a course set-up in the
parking lot. |
| |
|
 |
| |
|
Skip
Barber also gave hot laps around another parking lot in one of their
new Viper SRT-10 and a Porsche 911. |
| |
 |
 |
| |
|
By the
end of the day, the 911 had worn through the cords in one of the
tires. The Viper on the straight sections laid down a trail of
smoke.
The
MIT solar car team was also invited to display their last car that
they built and competed in.In full sun with the solar panel covered
body on, it can run forever. They reached a top speed of 80 mph in
it! |
