Factory Five Wins 1st Place 2004 World of Wheels |
|
Boston, MA January
9–11, 2004 The crew from Factory Five Racing, along with some local FFROG fanatic customers took the 2004 Boston World of Wheels show by storm. The three day weekend show that ran from Friday Jan 9th to Sunday Jan 11th showcased the hottest show and street cars, custom hot rods and everything in between. |
| The team from Factory Five brought a MkIII rolling chassis, and the FFR-Roush Coupe. FFR crew were joined by customers Rick LaCourse, Joe Leone and Chris Richards. |
|
|
| Joe Leone brought along his carbon fiber bodied, heavily modified and personalized metallic silver and black street car. Joe’s carbon fiber hood scoop and AWESOME 18” custom wheels were real standouts. Joe’s car has won several car shows and is one of the most custom FFR’s out there. Joe is currently in the process of ordering an FFR Type 65 Coupe to complement his roadster! |
| Factory Five customer and builder, Chris Richards, showed up with a beautiful vintage silver roadster with classic gauges and Halibrand style wheels. The car was sold two days before the show but the new owner agreed to let the world check out his new ride as a condition of the sale. |
| Another Factory Five was on display during the three day show. It was a dark blue roadster that was on display in the next building over. We couldn’t track down the name of the owner but if someone comes forward with it, we’ll send them a free t-shirt. |
|
The
crowds thinned a bit Saturday evening as the Patriots were playing in
Foxboro against the Tennessee Titans for the chance to get within a
single game of the Super bowl. Outside
the Bayside Exhibition center, the near zero degree weather stayed
around all weekend, but did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of the
crowds looking to check out the coolest cars around and maybe get a jump
start on summer car projects. |
|
|
|
The FFR Type 65 Coupe (Roush project car) really was a show stopper. The car earned 1st Place. |
|
The
FFR-Roush Coupe really stood out from the crowd. When the trophies were handed out on Sunday the car had won
Best of Show in the Hand-built and custom car class (which included the
very best and most expensive cars in the show). |
