Join Factory
Five, and Regional FFROGs, at these Late Summer events |
|
| We’re ending the summer on a whirlwind tour of events as
August draws to a close. The weekend of the August 20-22 gives us a great
opportunity to fan out and hook up with some of the Midwest FFROGs.
While one group is heading to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course to put
in some hot laps, another group is heading a bit further north to join the
Michigan FFROGs at the gigantic Woodward Dream Cruise. |
| |
| The Ohio-Indiana Region of the (ever expanding) FFR
Challenge Series is hosting a marquis event at the heralded track,
and nearly a dozen Spec Racers are expected to meet up for an epic
battle on the 2 ¼ mile, 13 turn road course (http://www.midohio.com/sportscarcourse/track/trackmap.asp).
This is one not to be missed as the Factory Five race team of Dave
Riha, Jim Schenck and Mark Dougherty, mix it up with the local
heroes. |

In Royal Oak, MI, we’ll meet up with the SE-Michigan
FFROGs at the world’s largest single day car event. Last year’s Woodward
Dream Cruise (http://www.woodwarddreamcruise.com/2004/) drew more than
30,000 cool cars of every make, model and design, and more than 1.5
million spectators. That sounds like it would be crowded, but this event
spreads out over 15 miles of suburban Detroit. |

The FFROG
pound will be at USA Transmission, on the east side of Woodward, at
Normandy Ave (approx. 13 ½ mile). |

At the time
this is written, there is still space available for a couple of cars, so
contact Todd Baumann, regional FFROG leader, at
tbaumann@ACD.net to reserve one for yourself. |
