Carl Johnson Never Drives His Mk2 Without His Wing-MenPosted on July 14th, 2007
Connecticut FFROG has the Smiths with him on every drive
Although Carl Johnson does not usually fly his Factory Five (FFR 4857) in formation, he is content that he has a pair of seasoned pilots on his wings.
Back in the fall of 2006, he ran into Dick Smith at the Historic Races at Lime Rock Park, and requested his autograph. Always the quintessential car guy, Dick didn’t want to deteriorate from Carl’s immaculate build, so he signed one of his wind wings instead.
This past June, Carl made his annual trek to the Factory Five Open House, and while there tracked Dave Smith down for a similar honor. Carl’s choice of signature locations was obvious – now he has one Smith on either side of him whenever he hits the road.
