FFROGs will be Racing 4 A Reason Challenge Series racers to run NASA 25hr enduro for charity |
|
| A team of Challenge Series racers, headed by Karen Salvaggio, are mounting an effort to endure NASA’s 25 hr race at Thunderhill Raceway (the longest endurance race in North America) this weekend. Not only will they be battling their own personal fatigue, automotive durability at the outer reaches of reliability curves, and all of the other cars on the track at the same time, but they will be doing it for a good cause as well. | |
| Created through a grassroots movement, Racing 4 A Reason helps raise funds for selected charities by soliciting pledges of any monetary amount per lap their cars complete. The Racing 4 A Reason team has four cars competing at this year's event (one of the biggest teams at the Thunderhill event), supported by 16 experienced race car drivers (four drivers per car) and a 60-person pit crew. The #14 Challenge Car will be running in support of the United Spinal Association - a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for all Americans with spinal cord injuries or disorders. | |
| Karen’s car
has come back to life after a crash at the Challenge Series
Nationals in September and is anxious to prove its mettle.
Supporting Karen in the race will be a team of experienced Challenge
Series racers and endurance veterans.
