Customer Profile - Blake Jaschke
His Mk3 is Tearing Up the Streets in Iowa

Factory Five customer Blake Jaschke of Iowa completed his Mk3 Roadster and is having an absolute blast showing off all of his hard work and dedication.  After receiving his kit in March 2006, he was able to start it up for the first time in December, go- cart it in April 2007 and his Roadster was fully completed by September 2007.  With help from his brother in law, Bruce Spire, he had is car on the road in just a year and a half.

Under the hood Blake has a 351W bored .060 over with a 10.6:1 compression ratio, a solid flat tappet cam, with AFR 185cc aluminum heads.  He also sports an Edelbrock air gap intake, Demon 650 carb, MSD distributor, and a 7qt racing oil pan.  His Roadster produces 318hp and 319 ft/lbs at rear wheels!

His drive train and suspension include a King Cobra* Clutch, TKO 600 transmission, 3:73 rear-end gears, and FFR 3-link rear suspension with coil-over shocks.  Blake opted for the 5 lug conversion and rear disc brakes, and front lower control arms from Factory Five.  His front wheels are 17x9 polished Bullit wheels with Nitto 555r 275/40zr17 tires and 17x10.5 in the rear with Nitto drag Radial 315/35R17.

Other accessories Blake went with were Autometer vintage gauges, self canceling turn signals and FFR Race seats.  Blake even found time to relocate his emergency brake to the top of the tunnel in his roadster.  All of these specs are complimented by his trick dark metallic grey paint job with black stripes.

Blake’s Roadster turned into a family affair and his wife and children soon began to reap the benefits of his long nights in the garage turning his wrench.  His children who refer to his Roadster as “Daddy’s Racecar” love to “blast off” just as much as has he does, and they often go for cruises in Daddy’s whip.

His wife also loves to jump in the passenger seat and feel the wind in her hair as they drive along the roads of Iowa.  Blake shares his passion not only with his family but with tons people around him at local shows and events.

His Mk3 has been receiving tons of attention at events in Iowa and has a number of accomplishments to brag about.  One of which was having the best time at a Good Guys Autocross competition by a full second during a forty second run which impressed the crowd immediately!

We would like to thank Blake for sharing his build story with us, and for showing that the sense of accomplishment you get when you finish your car is not something you feel on your own, but it’s shared with those around you!   Job well done Blake and we wish you and your family the best of luck in your Mk3!
