Keeping the Dream Alive

Dr. Chad Lusk finishes his Mk3 despite devastating news

Everyone in the Factory Five Community shares the same dream of building and driving cars.  Our passion is what bonds us together into a close knit group of gear heads and wrench turners.  Sometimes, life throws us unexpected curve balls that hinder our dreams, and make it more difficult to accomplish them.  And sometimes we have to face the very worst news.

Dr. Chad Lusk of La Grande, OR, took delivery of his kit in spring 2007.   Unfortunately, shortly after he was diagnosed with brain cancer, and on Christmas Eve 2007, he had the tumor removed.   As soon as he was allowed outside again, he was back in his garage braving the frigid temperatures to work on his car.  Rather than selling his kit and giving up his dream, Dr. Lusk finished his Roadster and drove it a few times before his passing this January.  All of us at Factory Five Racing send along our deepest condolences to the Lusk family and have posted this video as a tribute to a courageous man and a member of our community who will be missed.

Dr. Lusk’s son Matt sent us a video of his father driving his Mk3 Roadster, and the pride and happiness in his face proves what happens when you make your dreams come true!  Our prayers and thoughts are with his family and friends and if you would like to make a donation to the American Caner Society, there is a link listed below.

Note: Factory Five Racing doesn't use the word Cobra to market our products.  Doctor Lusk used this term in what is obviously a generic sense.
