Buffomante wins NASA ST2 division in Challenge Car

Previous Challenge Series champion takes Super Touring division to school

Last September, Tony Buffomante rode some impressive driving all the way to the top of the FFR Challenge Series.  The 2006 championship was actually his second consecutive trip to the top of the podium, and with some of the fastest lap times of all of the competitors at Mid Ohio, he decided to try his luck in Super Touring this year.

Super Touring is one of the fastest divisions within NASA, and seemed a natural advancement for Tony and his Challenge Car.  Tony bumped his horsepower up to ~290hp to be more competitive in the field, and clearly his improvements were worthwhile.  He adds the 2007 NASA ST2 Championship to his impressive career in racing – we know we’ll soon be seeing more of Tony on the national stage.

Two other Challenge racers (Brian Cates and Ed Boothman) also ran successfully within ST2, finishing 8th and 11th respectively.

We congratulate Tony for another successful campaign in his #34 Challenge Car and have awarded him $2500 for winning the series.
