Adding Their Own
Touch
Herb Fraser and Scott Smith Show Off Their Handiwork |

As I was growing up, my Mom always used to say, "think big and use
your imagination!" I think about this every time I see one of our
finished cars. Our customers are as creative as they come, and
often fabricate custom parts themselves to add an even more
personalized touch to their cars. |

Herb Fraser, of
New Jersey finished his Roadster back in 2005. It was the first car
he ever built and he enjoyed the project immensely. His Roadster
kit was a non-donor that he painted himself in his own garage. Herb
also installed real walnut burl lap inserts for the dash, console,
glove box and door panels that he designed and constructed himself.

Scott Smith
dreamed of owning a Roadster ever since he first saw one back in 1968.
Forty years later his dream became a reality (after permission from
his wife of course). |

With a background as a navy nuclear welder, machinist and mechanical
enthusiast, he too was able to add impressive custom parts to his
kit. His dash is handmade from red oak leather and he installed
heat shields for the entire engine bay with spun ceramic insulation
in-between. He even added some red paint to the engine himself, for
that final touch of detail. Scott’s car took him three years to
complete due to his job that requires him to travel frequently, but
he enjoyed every second of it and would love nothing more than
building another kit. |
