This is a good story.  I met Pedro Redondo and his son at the 2008 Factory Five Open House.  The two were a bit like fish out of water coming to Wareham straight from the Dominican Republic.  I tried to make them feel at home and did my best Spanish translations.  Thankfully, they knew more English than I knew Spanish and we were able to talk cars.  At the end of the Open House, it seemed everyone had a place to go except for our two new Dominican buddies, so I invited them out to my house for dinner with 30 or 40 other people and we enjoyed a fun evening.

After their visit, the guys ordered a Mk3 and shipped it to the Dominican Republic where they began building the car in earnest.  To my knowledge, they are the only Factory Five in the Dominican Republic.  Pedro recently sent a video of a local drag strip where they took the freshly built car.  The car ran an 11.6 in the 1/4 mile... the funny thing is, this was without the fiberglass body!  Hope you enjoy the video.
