Customer Profile - Tim Whittaker
Tim Completes His Second Roadster

In 2005 Tim Whittaker purchased his second Roadster from Factory Five Racing and in-between working the oil fields of Alaska’s North Slope,  building a house and then a Stalker V6, he made the time to complete his car.  After building a MkI, Tim approached the project knowing exactly what he wanted for his Mk2, and worked diligently to make sure every detail was exactly how he dreamed it.

Tim’s Mk2 is powered by a Ford 392 stroker engine backed up by a TKO 600 trans. The car can produce 475hp and 485ft.lbs.of torque.  Tim was able to add some personal touches to his build to differentiate it from the many Factory Five’s on the road already.  Tim enlarged both footboxes with added access panels and custom heat shields to both sides. The radiator with dual cooling fans was also custom-made, and special made door panels with wood inserts accent the customized interior.  As mentioned before, Tim knew exactly what he wanted this time around and was not holding back.  His Roadster boasts power steering and brakes, cruise control, heated seats, full Bentley carpeting, and remote trunk and hood latches.

Two weeks out of every month Tim battles the cold and works three hundred miles north of the Artic circle.  We often complain about the weather here in New England, but after talking to Tim, we bite our tongues instead of complaining about bitter temperatures.  The Mk2 Roadster looks and photographs beautifully in front of Tim’s shop in Idaho with the neighboring Canadian border behind it!  All of the Tim’s vision came to life after he finished his build and it looks absolutely killer!  Thanks for sharing your story with us Tim and enjoy yourMk2 Roadster!
