the 25 Hours of Thunderhill NASA Hosts World's Longest Endurance Race |
|
Factory Five Director of R&D Jim Schenck and Tech Support's Andy Cole will be traveling to Thunderhill Raceway on the first weekend of December to participate in the 8th running of NASA's grueling 25 hour endurance race. There will be a total of three Factory Fives competing this year! The first car is a slightly modified FFR Spec Racer owned by FFR Challenge Racer Ed Boothman. The second car is a race-prepped FFR Type 65 Coupe owned by west-coast Challenge Series Champion Karen Salvaggio. The third car is a Factory Five GTM (that qualifies fourth fastest at last year's race) owned by Team Migliori's PDG. FFR's Mark Dougherty and Andy will be crew chiefs for FFR customer Ed Boothman's car. Drivers for Boothman's car include Jim Schenck, John George, Kevin Eves, Paul Kaiser, and Scott McKay. The car the guys will be driving is a slightly modified FFR Spec Racer with 300 RWHP and larger brakes. The car will also be running race slicks. Click on the video link below to take a few laps with one of the drivers, John George, in the 25 Hour car. The 25 Hours of Thunderhill has special importance to Factory Five. While this year's racing budget has been dramatically reduced, FFR customers and racers have stepped up to race with less support. The event is truly remarkable and difficult to describe to those who have not been there. Recently, Charles Breed, a competitor to Team Miglori/Prototype Development Group, wrote us a letter about sportsmanship and fellowship that is rare in racing but common at this event and among FFR racers. If you have a chance to head out to Nor'Cal's Thunderhill Raceway on December 5th and 6th, you will be treated to a racing event unlike any other. The race begins at noon on Saturday, December 5th and concludes the next day Sunday at 1 P.M. Best of luck to all three teams. Hope to see you there. |

Letter from
Factory Five Competitor It's unbelievable that the second place points team helps the first place points guy in the final races to guarantee his leadership position. This team was completely unselfish and willing to do anything to keep me running. I hope to repay them in the future and do whatever I can to contribute to Prototype Development Group's success. If NASA has a Sportsmanship of the Year Award, Prototype Development Group is the undisputed winner. Very best regards,
