SEMA Show News

Monday November 3, 2008

We will be bringing you news from the SEMA show each day this week, as the crew from Factory Five have been preparing for some major new releases and product news.

Dave Smith and Bob Bondurant by the '33 Hot Rod in Ford's booth

The Factory Five booth is all set-up and we're ready for the big show

Monday is the official set up day and the team here worked until late getting everything ready.  Many customers began arriving early as we were setting up and a quick walk around the building makes it look like the economy ‘aint that bad with a massive number of high dollar hardware and more displays than ever.... or so it seems.

The Ford Racing booth has some surprises of the Factory Five kind, and Dave Smith ran into Ken Thom and Bob Bondurant from the Bondurant School as the Ford crew were setting up.  Mopar alley is not the only place to see a new or vintage hemi powered challenger or charger (they are everywhere).

The new Camaro looking tough in the GM display

The GM display is massive and the new Camaro looks tough. There is a tremendous presence of hot rods and of course, customs this year.  We spied three GTMs in the show and an in-process roadstser.  There is a total of seven Factory Five’s that we were able to see during set up.

Cheney’s GTM is on display at the iForged booth… never have seen any car make a Porsche GT3 and a wide body Lambo look tame!  The FFR GTM’s are in the Sony Playstation Gran Tourismo game contest.

Over in the FFR booth, SoFasts World Record holding Type 65 Coupe is on display.  The car is heart-atteck serious and all heads turned when it was driven into the show booth (engine makes over 105dB at idle!). The Bonnevile winner is directly across from a Shelby car and a Shelby Mustang that look as though they are cowering in the shadow of that beast.

The crew is set, the cars are in place and we’ll bring you news from SEMA as the show gets underway
