2008 Moochfest Recap

Frigid FFROGs join FFR followers for February fest

It doesn’t take too much persuasion to talk our customers into joining us and several hundred Factory Five enthusiasts for some food, to swap stories and our love of cars, or simply a chance to break up the winter doldrums.  In its sixth year, the annual Moochfest is a crowd pleaser that seems to draw more people every year.

Despite some arctic weather, with temps hovering in the mid-20’s (including sub-zero (Fahrenheit!) wind chills) over a dozen owners made the trek to

Wareham in their Factory Fives.

George DeSantis won the frozen fingers and icy eyebrows award as the long distance traveler today as he left his house in Shelton, CT well before 6am to drive the nearly 3 hours to FFR headquarters.  He joined 13 other owners, hailing from all over New England.

The fourteen frigid FFROGs at Factory Five were:

Tom Brown

East Providence, RI

Nate Johnson

Wareham, MA

Dave Daylor

Plymouth, MA

Mike Prisco

Middleboro, MA

Craig Lindsey

Middleboro, MA

Dave Harper

Berkley, MA

Brian Chaulk

West Barstable, MA

Rob Baker

Hamilton, MA

Bill Hough

Norwell, MA

Ray Elie

Dracut, MA

Jim DeMayo

Kingston, RI

John George

Nashua, NH

Mike Marshall

Merrimack, NH

George DeSantis

Shelton, CT

With the exception of Tom Brown, all won a Snowman Award for their efforts, as well as 100 Factory Five Bucks valid towards any Factory Five product purchase.  Since Tom trailered his car in from Rhode Island he was awarded a consolation prize of a Factory Five Sweatshirt to make sure that he would be warm enough to drive the 45 minutes in the cold next time.

In addition to the Snowman Awards, and a feast of dozens of sandwiches, we held a raffle for some killer prizes.

Raffled off were three awesome Factory Five jackets, a set of the best Koni front shocks and springs, a gleaming Stainless Bumper Assembly and a stunning set of Factory Five Custom Gauges – all were available for the low ticket price of $1.  In the end, all of the proceeds will be donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

Everyone who came seemed to be grinning from ear to ear at the end of the day, and looking forward to their chance to join the frozen few in 2009.

We can’t wait to host the crowds again for the Open House on June 14th.  You won’t want to miss this one.
