Mk4 Draws Big Crowd at Winter Open House
Hundreds Came to See FFR's Latest Roadster

For over two hundred people, Factory Five Racing’s 2010 Winter Open House, formally known as “Moochfest”, was a really cool way to spend the Valentine’s Day weekend.  Especially “cool” for the seven brave FFR customers that bundled up and drove their cars to the event.  Those heroic customers were rewarded for challenging Mother Nature by being awarded the coveted “Snowman  Award”.

The lucky winners were:

Bill and Helena Blackwood  Newbury, MA   85 miles
Rob Baker Hamilton, MA 60 miles
Dave Harper  Berkley, MA 25 miles
Frank Winship  Shrewsberry, MA 92 miles
Craig Lindsey Middleboro, MA 11 miles
John George Naushua, NH 100 miles

Even while everyone warmed up with a hot beverage, milled around the showroom, purchased some FFR paraphernalia and chatted with friends, you could sense the feeling of anticipation in the air.  Right there in the middle of the showroom floor, under a bright red car cover, was the MK4.   The moment everyone was waiting for finally arrived as Dave Smith stepped up to the car to do the unveiling.

Before pulling the cover off, Dave asked if everyone would help him sing a Happy 75th Birthday to Art Totten over the phone.  Art, who is not only a dear friend and long time supporter of Factory Five Racing, but he has also built several FFR cars, the latest being the 33’ Hot Rod.  I’m sure that was the first time Art has had over 200 people sing to him.  Here’s to many more ‘Happy Birthdays” Art.

A hush came over the crowd as everyone seemed to hold their breath while the MK4 was revealed to the public for the first time.  A wave of applause and questions followed as customers snapped pictures of the newest addition to the Factory Five stable of cars.  If you attended the event this past Saturday, you were lucky enough to snag a free Mk4 Roadster poster.  If not they are now available for sale in our Parts Catalog.  The day was full of excitement and camaraderie and everybody, including the staff, had a blast!  We would like to thank everyone involved in helping throw another successful Factory Five event.
