Last year we discontinued full production of the Type 65 Coupe. We are happy to announce that we are resuming full production of this model and will soon be offering some killer deals for those of you who were waiting in the wings!
Background: A year ago we were immersed in a federal lawsuit against Carroll Shelby over the shape of our Type 65 Coupe model. While we believed strongly (and said as much) that we would prevail, we decided to limit production on this car to the inventory levels that we had at the time (about 25 cars). At about the same time we were ramping up production of our '33 Hot Rod and needed the to buy more Hot Rod parts and raw materials. It was a logical decision back then to limit production and we did. Now that's all behind us. |

Shelby’s claims against us for the shape of the car have been thrown out of court, and our Hot Rod is comfortably in full production, so I have made the decision to throttle-up and resume full capacity production on our Coupe model. With a world record at Bonneville under our belt, and almost 500 Coupes produced since 1999, I am more excited than ever about the future of this car. I can’t say that it makes me feel bad to build and ship more of these cars after what Shelby has done to us over the last year! With all that in mind, and with the goal of selling more units, I have asked the guys to craft a sale specific to the Coupe. Details to be released in a few days.
