Factory Five will close early on Sept. 11 We remember all those who suffered on 9/11/2001 |

Most people know exactly where they were eight years ago today as we watched our country under attack and witnessed the heroism and character of our countrymen revealed under the worst of conditions. |

I was running the company back then on that beautiful blue-sky New England fall day, same as I'm doing today! I will never forget the minutes and hours that passed as we began to find out the extent of that horrible tragedy. At about 10 am I closed the shop and sent everyone home. We haven't worked on September 11th since. This year the 11th came on the same week as labor day, and with orders and customers to take care of, we couldn't afford a three-day week. So we decided to work a half day today and leave at 1 pm. So if you're calling us and you're a tad frustrated that we've closed early, we are sorry for the inconvenience and for not letting you know sooner. We will be back and working hard on Monday and open tomorrow (Saturday) for visits/tours. |

In the meantime, on behalf of all the employees of Factory Five Racing I want to send out our prayers and solemn recognition of this day and the heroes that died on September 11th. We also recognize the heroes in our military who have sacrificed since that day and continue to serve to protect us. Dave Smith |
