Mechanical Brilliance, Traffic-Stopping Style
Pleasing to the eye, but also true to its performance charter, the Factory Five GTM is a fusion of speed and style. Broad flanks, muscular lines, menacing stance… all speak clearly to the cars pure-speed intent.
Form follows function naturally in everything: from the wind-tunnel derived aerodynamic body shape, to the ultra-rigid tube steel chassis and well-placed driver controls. Every element is in support of its clear performance first purpose. The body shape is simply stunning… a 10 out of 10 that looks even better in person! We back up those looks with serious world-class performance!
The GTM’s mechanical elegance was designed by a dedicated development team of hardcore car guys who build cars. The FFR team is comprised of hard-core race car drivers and mechanical engineers who spend every available hour at racetracks, behind the wheel and working on performance cars. Our team made sure the car performs at supercar levels, but wasn’t super difficult to assemble and build.

Frame / Chassis
Design Elegance, Rock Solid Rigidity
At the very core of the GTM Supercar is a computer designed, ultra-rigid space-frame. The frame is made of mig-welded, high strength 1020 and mild carbon steel tubing and plate steel. This special design incorporates a low center of gravity, high torsional rigidity, and solid safety features that delivers true Supercar performance in a safe and secure vehicle design.
The ultra-strong space frame is joined by a matrix of aluminum sub-frame panels to complete a true race-car construction. Built on the strong foundation of this tough chassis is a four corner coil-over shock suspension with unequal length control arms and massive Corvette brakes. The composite body rests on top of this completely separate assembly.
The performance and success of the GTM is dependant first and foremost on the quality and strength of the frame. When the editor of Car and Driver magazine, Larry Webster, commented that the car handled the monster LS7 power “better than the Z06 Corvette”, it was due primarily to the design and strength of the space frame. Our engineering team spent over five years and countless hours on the computer and at the track to make sure the frame is stronger and more rigid than you’ll ever need.

- Frame design allows for ultra-low engine placement for low vehicle center of gravity.
- Mid-engine design has good weight distribution, but even better mass centralization (heavy parts of vehicle towards center).

American SuperCar Art
The Factory Five Racing GTM is built with a hand-laid vinylester composite body complete with hinged doors and trunk, pre-drilled mounting holes and positioned nose. Fiberglass lamination thickness is 3/16” all around with .015” coat of gloss red gel coat outer finish. The body shell consists of hinged front nose, doors and door liners, hinged rear hatch and liner, and main body cockpit/rear section.
By using fiberglass for the exterior body shell only, we removed the stress and significantly reduced the weight while maintaining rigidity with the underlying matrix of steel tubing and aluminum panels (the right material for the job). The result is a body that is both lightweight and yet strong and rigid.
You can count on us to deliver a part that is engineered to be the correct strength and fits right. The GTM body shells are shipped assembled to the frame. The parts are trimmed on a five axis RTP-Fanuc robot.

Suspension & Brakes
Interface of Chassis and Pavement
We selected the tough and lightweight aluminum Corvette control arms and matched them to proprietary FSD* coil-over shocks and springs developed with the team at Koni Shocks. The FSD KONIs deliver razor sharp handling at modest speeds, while maintaining Supercar manners at Supercar pace.
We’ve already proven the GTM suspension in conditions more demanding than you ever will. We’ve competed in the 25 Hours of Thunderhill for more than 5 years. The GTM was developed and tested on the racetrack, at the dragstrip, at autocrosses, and ultimately in the real world out on the streets.
The complement to a lightweight and rigid chassis is a well developed suspension. Our engineering team applied the lessons they learned developing and racing in the Factory Five Challenge Series to design a world-class suspension for the GTM.
*FSD or Frequency Selective Damping is the latest patented technology from KONI Shocks Company. Specifically designed to deliver excellent road holding without sacrificing comfort.

GM Performance Parts Power the GTM
A famous person once wrote that a man has got to know his limitations. So does a company. Factory Five’s success over the years has been due to understanding what we can do and what we can’t. While the CAD/CAM revolution has indeed made it possible for small, technically proficient design and engineering companies to do great things, it hasn’t changed the reality that only a company with massive resources like GM can design complex mechanical systems.
That’s why our team relies upon the proven running gear from GM’s World-class Corvette and Corvette Z-06. Major complex assemblies include Engine, Computer engine controls, fuel system, and front and rear suspension/braking.
The GTM is designed to accept GM LS series engines. From the proven 350 HP LS1 to the potent 430 HP LS3s and 500+ HP LS7s.

Comfort and Control. Bridge Between Man & Machine.
The GTM kit comes with a complete interior including, sport seats, carpeting, headliner, roll cage covers, covered interior panels, door panels, engine cover, rear bulkhead, dash assembly, carbon fiber dash face, complete gauge set, and directional vents for heating and cooling. Covered interior pieces contrast with the carbon fiber gauge pod and functionally elegant layout of the interior.
For a car that is only 42” high, the cockpit space is remarkable. Sitting in the car you’ll find a large and quiet cockpit with good front and rear visibility and modern temperature controls. Following a careful entry and exit, you’ll find head-room, legroom and front/rear visibility that is surprisingly well executed. An elegant and simple interior focuses the driver on the serious job at hand.

Details, Details, Details.
A Supercar is not a Supercar if it doesn’t look the part. Low, menacing and powerful… Those are the words that come to mind when one sees the GTM in person for the first time. But looks have to support function. That’s why we developed this shape in the windtunnel and at speed on countless racetracks over a process of five years.
Production car details, normally absent on most component cars, abound on the GTM. Exterior items like a hinged rear glass hatch, power glass side windows, and closed headlamp buckets add polish to the already bright stone. Padded and covered interior pieces contrast with the carbon fiber gauge pod and functionally elegant layout of the interior.
The GTM exterior proves that, at least in the world of Supercars, function follows form.
- Gen 2 hood vents improve cooling and contribute significanly to downforce.
- Optional carbon fiber front splitter increases downforce for race applications. Rear carbon fiber diffuser is standard.
- Sealed head lamp buckets and DOT compliant headlights, taillights, and turn signals.
- Non-stress composite body shape. Doors, front bonnet, and rear hatch all hinge to steel frame.

Lightning in a World of Thunder
In a world where thundering Supercars routinely crest 3500 lbs, the track-tested and tuned 2350 lb. GTM is a refreshing return to sportscar fundamentals. Factory Five lightning strikes with a hp/wt ratio similar to that of a Daytona Prototype. With a stock LS7 powerplant, the car maintains a 4.8 lbs per hp ratio. Connected to the pavement via huge 335 series rear tires, it enjoys acceleration numbers better than almost any production vehicle on the road today.
0-60 in 3.0 seconds! 0-100 in 6.6 seconds!¼ mile in 11.0 seconds @ 132 mph! The GTM is faster 0-60 mph than a Ferrari Enzo, a Porsche GT, a Saleen Twin Turbo S7, a Ford GT, and a Lamborghini Murcielago*!
But a Supercar isn’t just defined by acceleration. The GTM’s ultra-stout, ultra light space frame chassis and deep breathing LS Series V-8 power combine with modern suspension and brake components to deliver Supercar performance in braking and roadholding as well.
The GTM stops and turns just as fiercely or moreso than the rest of the Supercar gang. With stock Corvette brakes, the GTM slows to a stop from 70 mph in only 166 feet, outbraking the mighty $157,000 Ford GT. That was STOCK Corvette brakes, not $30,000 carbon/ceramic.
Want roadholding? The GTM turns faster than it falls thru the air. Car and Driver measured a phenomenal 1.05 lateral G on street DOT tires. To put that in context, the Ferrari Enzo is the only car that matches it!
The car is light and aerodynamic, with excellent weight distribution and precise race-car handling/braking derived from the Chevrolet Corvette C-5. The car uses potent GM LS series engine power and Corvette suspension/brakes with Koni brand coil-over shocks and a Porsche 911 transaxle to get the job done.

Wind Tunnel Proven:
The shape of the GTM was aerodynamic tested at the Langley AFB wind tunnel and the Boeing Aircraft windtunnel. Every part we sell, including front and rear spoilers, rear diffuser, under-car aluminum sheeting, front hood vents, and functional roof scoop were optimized for safe down force.
