The crew is loaded up and heading out to the 2nd annual Barrett-Jackson Northeast car show. This year, there are three things to know about for Factory Five fans. In addition to displaying our cars and having our crew available for questions, we are also working on a Factory Five Mk2 Roadster in the DIY area! This is a cool chance to check out a Factory Five being built/upgraded. There are also two Factory Fives in the auction, and the DIY car is scheduled to go across the block at primetime on Saturday night at 7:00 PM EST.
Barrett-Jackson Live Build!
We built a steel-body ’33 Hot Rod at the January Barrett-Jackson show in Scottsdale, AZ and it was a big hit. We’re doing it again at Barrett-Jackson Northeast, but this time with a Mk2 Roadster that is going to get some major upgrades.
This beautiful jet black Mk2 Roadster will be getting a major facelift/overhaul from the crew at Barrett-Jackson. Stop by the DIY area during the show to check out the work. The car will be auctioned and it is lot #735. An already amazing built Factory Five Cobra Replica, this will undergo further customization throughout its time at the Second Annual Barrett-Jackson Northeast Auction. As part of a partnership, we’ve teamed up with Barrett-Jackson to upgrade and enhance this car that is owned by the auction house. As part of the Barrett-Jackson DIY Pavilion, select automotive companies will present hands-on demonstrations and exhibitions on a variety of projects being conducted in real time. We will be upgrading the car with new suspension components, leather seats, carpet kit, stainless-steel side pipes, chrome roll bar, new taillights and much more. Once complete, it will go over the Barrett-Jackson auction block on Saturday, June 24 at about 7:00 PM.
Above & Below: Last January, we did a Hot Rod live build in Scottsdale. This time, we’re doing a Mk2.
In addition to the live build Mk2 Roadster, another Factory Five is listed to be auctioned and it is lot #405, a beautiful one-owner Factory Five Type 65 Coupe. Full description below.
Lot #405 – A one-owner car, this 1965 Shelby Daytona re-creation was purchased from well-known Factory Five Racing in Massachusetts by a gentleman from Rhode Island. He designed and facilitated the entire build. The bodylines are gorgeous and the British Racing Green paint is show-quality. Unlike many other Shelby Daytonas, this car doesn’t have racing stripes or any decals which looks very rich. Some exterior features include front windshield wipers, plastic side windows and rear window, Cobra mirror, Cobra gas cap and new 17″ Shelby GT40 wheels with new Sumitomo HTR 352 tires. The beautiful custom tan interior complements the exterior perfectly. Some interior features include a roll cage, leather-wrapped dash and seats, Simpson seatbelts, Auto Meter gauges, Cobra wood steering wheel, door-pull handles, B&M Quick Silver shifter and custom switches. The engine compartment is nicely detailed. It has an aluminum firewall and Painless wiring. The engine is a built 351ci Windsor V8. Engine performance upgrades include a Crane camshaft and aluminum rockers, Edelbrock aluminum heads, Weiand intake, Holley high-performance fuel pump, Cobra valve covers, Edelbrock water pump and MSD ignition. This engine runs and sounds great out the custom headers with side pipes. Cooled by a Griffin aluminum radiator with electric fan, the engine is coupled to a Ford C6 automatic transmission and Thunderbird rear end. The undercarriage is nicely detailed and features a custom tubular Factory Five Racing frame. It also has rack & pinion steering, 4-wheel disc brakes, aluminum fuel tank and rear-mounted battery. The front suspension has been upgraded with tubular control arms and coilovers. The rear suspension has been upgraded with independent suspension and coilovers. This car has recently been completely serviced and detailed which is fully documented by an invoice. From the MS Classic Cars Collection. **TITLED AS A 1965 COBRA 65**
The show begins Wednesday, June 21st, and goes through Saturday night, June 24th.
Any change there will be a corvette body in the future(1953,1957,1962) on one of your frames?
I’d give-up almost anything for a 1966ish corvette grand sport (with air cond). Jack ffr248
