Customer Carlos C. Presents Coast Guard Flag to Factory Five

Factory Five customer Carlos C. from Florida drove up to pick-up his Type 65 Coupe this week and had a gift that he presented to us.  Carlos has been in the United States Coast Guard for 21 years, and has been wanting to build a Factory Five for a while now.  He originally was planning on building a Spyder GT, but after that went out of production, he shifted his plans to a Type 65 Coupe.

Carlos is using a Mustang donor car for the build.  He’s had the car for years car and it was dynoed at just above 600 HP and ran in the low 10’s at the drag strip.  Carlos is changing things up a bit by using a Viper transmission, and is also doing a completely custom interior.  If everything goes as Carlos has scheduled, he plans to attend the 2015 Open House in his Coupe.

After Carlos and the Factory Five shipping team finished loading his Coupe onto his trailer, Carlos gave us a United States Coast Guard flag and a couple of hats.  If you’ve visited Factory Five, you have probably seen all of the US flags given to Factory Five from members of the United States Armed Forces.  Carlos hasn’t seen one from a Coast Guard member, and wanted to present us with the flag to add to our showroom display.

Factory Five President Dave Smith was out of the office during Carlos’ visit and kit pick-up, but spoke with Carlos over the phone to thank him for his service and wish him good luck on his build.
