Factory Five 818 and '33 Hot Rod Featured at 2013 PRI Show

Factory Five’s own Colby Whipple and Chris Ronni arrived back this morning from this year’s Performance Racing Industry Show in Indianapolis. This year’s show saw an 818R on display with the crew from Grassroots Motorsports. Along with the Grassroots Motorsports Magazine guys, Chris and Colby fielded questions from hundreds of show goers including a number of folks with 818s already on order. They also handed out GRM’s brand-new 2014 calendar featuring a wide array of dramatic racing shots, including our very own 818R on the month of January. There were just over 100 calendars left at the end of the show, so if you are calling in or placing a parts order online, ask for a free copy and we’ll include it in your shipment.

There was also a ’33 Hot Rod on display which Ford Racing is building to develop their EcoBoost V6 aftermarket engine management. The EcoBoost ’33 is a full roller at the moment, but not quite running, and sports a really cool twin-intercooler set-up just behind the front suspension. Charles M. is Show Favorite with ’33 Hot Rod

Charles M. from Lakeland, FL purchased a built Factory Five ’33 Hot Rod in February 2026. This Hot Rod was built by a company in California that builds cars for movies and TV shows. It was sold at auction with the proceeds being donated to a charity. The auction winner then sold the car to Charles with 594 miles on it. Charles brought the Hot Rod to the 21st Annual Bay Life Car Show the other week which saw 675 cars attend.
