Join Us at Hot Rod Power Tour West 2023

This year, there is a shorter, 3-day Hot Rod Power Tour West, and I am flying out to Los Angeles this December with Factory Five’s Nate Johnson to participate in the cruise and be on hand for a very special Factory Five unveiling of a Type 65 Coupe that was built with the entire staff of Motor Trend IN their offices in El Segundo, CA!

Nate and I will be driving the new Factory Five XTF Truck, and Motor Trend/Hot Rod Magazine will be unveiling a very special Factory Five Type 65 Coupe built these past months in their SoCal offices to celebrate 75 years of Hot Rod and Motor Trend. Factory Five customers are welcome to join us, but we are actually driving in the Power Tour vs. displaying, so we will not bringing our big rig… this time we are cruising for fun!

The car under this cover is a very special Factory Five Type 65 Coupe, and it will be unveiled on the first night of the Hot Rod Power Tour West on December 15 at Irwindale Raceway to kick off the three day event. Factory Five customers are invited to join us on the cruise, and you can register for the Power Tour with this link.

Nate and myself will be driving the supercharged 5.0L Coyote-powered Factory Five XTF that debuted at SEMA 2023, and features paint-free carbon fiber body panels.

It was a pleasure to host Mk4 Chris and Wendy D. from Navarre. FL at Factory Five this week! Chris built a Mk4 Roadster the other year, and was also featured in Coastal Lifestyle Magazine. Westley B. Graduates his Type 65 Coupe Build!

Congratulations to Factory Five customer Westley B. from Virginia on graduating his Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe build! Westley received his Coupe kit in late Summer 2024, and said it was a fun journey. Westley installed a Scott Shafiroff 427ci small block Ford in his Type 65 Coupe along with options like hydraulic clutch, IRS, power steering, GPS vintage gauges, low back race vintage race seats, powder coated frame, Wilwood brakes, wipers, A/C-heater, side windows, front and rear sway bars, floormats, seat track, and polished side view mirror. Donny N. Builds Two Factory Fives

In 2020, customer Donny N. from Georgia started his Factory Five Mk4 Roadster build with his wife and kids. 4 years and 3 months later, they started work on their next Factory Five project, a Type 65 Coupe! “My first build was a MK4 Roadster powered by a Coyote Gen 2 with a TKO600, IRS, and Wilwood brakes,” wrote Donny N. “This time, I built a Type 65 Coupe with a Gen 3 Coyote, T56 transmission, IRS, and Wilwood brakes.” Check out this reel of Donny’s two Factory Five builds with his family.
