Big Crowd Attends Snowy FFR Winter Open House

The 2013 Factory Five Winter Open House was held this past Saturday and a few hundred attendees stopped by to take a look around the showroom, go for a plant tour, and grab a slice of pizza.  Snow was in the forecast and some folks mentioned it had already started to fall in their town, so we didn’t have any Snowmen driving their Roadster, Coupe, Hot Rod or GTM to the event.

The guys that started it all – Customers Joe L. and Paul G. kick started the Winter Open House event with the original Moochfest back in 2003.  Here, they take a photo with Dave Smith, his daughter Nicole, and Factory Five’s Sandra D. as they pay a little bit back, picking up some Factory Five swag for a dollar.

The big hit this year was the 818R and 818 chassis on display in the showroom.  Factory Five President Dave Smith gave a brief update on the project saying how development continues to stay on schedule.  He also went on to discuss some of the updates that have been made to the building, such as the new laser cutter in welding department before heading out on a factory tour.

And of course, what would a Factory Five Winter Open House be without some pizza, served just as the factory tour came to an end.

The 2013 Factory Five Winter Open House continued the tradition started 10 years ago.  Thanks to everyone who came and made this event a lot of fun. We look forward to doing it again next year!

The Winter Open House is always a good chance for customers and vendors to catch up.

We saw some future Factory Five builders checking out the suspension displays.

So many posters to choose from, so little wall space.

We put some of the Factory Five demo cars out in the warehouse for people to look at, such as the Factory Five Type 65 Coupe.

Factory Five President Dave Smith spent the morning talking with customers about everything Factory Five before giving the tour.

The show room was busy all morning and you could barely move as the factory tour was about to start.

Dave Smith made sure to tell the story of how customers Joe L. and Paul G. are the ones who started this event before the tour began.

A look at the Winter Open House crowd as the tour was starting.

Everyone was excited to see the new laser cutter in welding at work during the factory tour.

The tour concludes in the chassis assembly area and then leads everyone right over to some pizza.

Did someone mention pizza?
