Market Highs 2014, and Barrett Jackson Results

Prices for completed Factory Fives are impressive, and prices for original Cobras, both 289s and 427s, continue to sky rocket.  According to the 2014 Winter-Spring edition of Keith Martin’s Sports Car Market, here are some current values:

1963-1965 Cobra 289 (580 cars made): $675,000 – $875,000
1965-1967 Cobra 427 (314 cars made): $850,000 – $1,050,000
1966 Cobra 427 S/C (29 cars made): $1, 500,000 – $1,900,000

The prices of the original cars continue to increase making driving them even more rare.  This, among many reasons, explains the popularity of Factory Fives.  A handful of Factory Fives crossed the block at this year’s Barrett Jackson auction in Scottsdale, AZ.  Here are some results.
