Rob M. Reaches First Start Milestone!

There’s many milestones when building a Factory Five including getting the kit in your garage, making it a roller, engine install, and of course, graduating the build. One of the most exciting ones though is the first start, and customer Rob M. from Suttons Bay, MI recently shared his Mk4 firing up for the first time on The Factory Five Forum!

“First start was a success!” wrote Rob on the forum. “Dad made it up and we had perfect weather. I primed the fuel pump with my power probe and got the pressure right at 65 psi per the Gen 3 instructions. It fired up on the first try! SUCH A PROUD MOMENT!”

“I’m not sure there is a value that can be placed on these photos,” said Rob. “THIS is what it’s all about. Post Covid you start to change your perspective on things, one of which was time with Dad. Decided that this was a great way to build something that would last beyond our time together and that meant something.”

Rob is building his Mk4 Roadster complete kit with a 5.0L Coyote, TKO 600, 2018 IRS with 3.55 gears, manual steering, manual brakes, vintage gauges, swaybars, dual roll bar, and 17″ Halibrand wheels. The color is to be determined, but there maybe front runners in mind.
