Bill B. Shares an Update on His Mk5 Build

Like many of us, Bill B. from Stratford, NH has been a car enthusiast his whole life. Bill has worked as a communications system technician, engineer, and owned his businesses throughout New England, and has recently decided it is time to get back to his real passion: building cars.

Last year, Bill attended the first Mk5 Roadster Build Class at Mott Community College in April 2025, and a few weeks later, picked up his Mk5 complete kit at Factory Five. Bill loves how Factory Five blends classic design with modern performance, and is using it as the foundation to build his vision of an ultra-premium, one off Roadster.

Bill helps install the dash into the Mk5 Roadster during the build school at Mott Community College.

“For me, this build represents a full-circle moment combining a lifetime of technical experience with the dream I set aside years ago,” wrote Bill. “This is just the beginning.”

Bill is building his Mk5 Roadster with a 52XS Aluminator engine with TKX transmission, and configured the kit with IRS, power steering, platinum gauges, diamond stitched seats and door panels, powdercoated frame and roll bar, Wilwood brakes, leather steering wheel, carbon fiber dash and hood scoop, A/C, swaybars, remote brake booster, wind wings, and sun visors. The wheels and engine valve covers are custom made featuring Bill’s company name: Blue Hills Customs.

Great job on your build so far build, Bill! We look forward to seeing your completed Mk5, and hope you bring it by the shop so we can check it out.
