Factory Five Roadster Makes Popular Mechanic’s Top 10 Cars of All Time List

Jay’s Mk3 Roadster was awarded 2nd Place in Class at the 2007 Knotts Berry Farm Car Show.

Factory Five customer Jay S. from Prescott, AZ shared with us today that his Mk3 Roadster is featured in Popular Mechanics’ story on the “Top 10 Cars of All Time: Readers’ Choice”.  In Popular Mechanics’ “Car Wars”, people are able to upload photos of their cars for others to vote on which one is the best.  After months of people voting, the Top 10 cars are revealed.

Not only did Jay’s Mk3 Roadster make the Top 10 for this round, it also was the number one car by the percentage of votes.  With 74% of the votes in it’s battle, Jay’s Roadster beat out the other Top 10 cars which include the 2005 Ford GT, 1969 Camaro SS/RS, 2011 Audi R8 GT, and 2006 Mansory Aston Martin Vantage V8.  Click here to view the complete Top 10 Cars of All Time.

Jay started his Mk3 Roadster build in May of 2005.  It was street legal in November of 2005, and he put the finishing touches on in August 2005.  It was voted the “Picture of the Month” on the forum in 2009, won second place at the 2007 Knotts Berry Farm show, and has won many other trophies at local car shows.

Jay’s Mk3 features a 351W with 400 hp, a Tremec TKO 600, KONI coil over shocks all around, the Factory Five 3-link rear suspension, and paint by Jeff “Da Bat” Miller.

I made the call to scrub FFR operations for the day. The drive in wasn’t bad, and most roads are clear.
