Gen 3 Type R Coupe Built for Racer Chick

Gen 3 Coupe production continues to ramp up. There have been a few delays, but the project is storming ahead at record pace and it is the best new product launch in our history.

Yesterday, Dave Pohli and George Daulton from the Ohio Cobra Club were here at Factory Five Racing to pick-up a brand-new Gen 3 Type R Coupe. Dave is building the Coupe for Factory Five customer Karen Salvaggio. Karen, a.k.a. Racer Chick, is going to be racing on the west coast this season, and we look forward to her result. Karen displayed her road-racing Factory Five Coupe at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas.

Karen’s race Coupe has street plates on it! Here she is at the Bonneville Salt Flats on one of her many epic road trips.

Karen was profiled in Grassroots Motorsports Magazine driving her Challenge Car.

Karen’s Thunder Valley Racing team has campaigned numerous times in the grueling 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race.

Paul H. and his Mk4 Earn 2nd Place at Spokane Speed!

Customer Paul H. from Spokane, WA took home 2nd Place in the Handbuilt Sports Car Class at this year’s Spokane Speed and Custom Car Show! Paul purchased his Mk4 Roadster (chassis #9847) in June 2020, and built the car with his son after attending the Factory Five Build School at Mott Community College. They built the Mk4 with a 5.0 Coyote from a 2013 F150, Trememc 2650, IRS, 17″ Halibrand wheels, vinyl dash with glovebox, leather seats, and vintage gauges. Mk4 Customers Chris and Wendy D. Visit Factory Five

It was a pleasure to host Mk4 Chris and Wendy D. from Navarre. FL at Factory Five this week! Chris built a Mk4 Roadster the other year, and was also featured in Coastal Lifestyle Magazine. Westley B. Graduates his Type 65 Coupe Build!

Congratulations to Factory Five customer Westley B. from Virginia on graduating his Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe build! Westley received his Coupe kit in late Summer 2024, and said it was a fun journey. Westley installed a Scott Shafiroff 427ci small block Ford in his Type 65 Coupe along with options like hydraulic clutch, IRS, power steering, GPS vintage gauges, low back race vintage race seats, powder coated frame, Wilwood brakes, wipers, A/C-heater, side windows, front and rear sway bars, floormats, seat track, and polished side view mirror.
